Ripple glass

Boulevard's recycling impact

Before Ripple Glass, Kansas City discarded 150 million pounds of usable glass annually, including Boulevard beer bottles, which ended up directly in landfills. Lack of a local processing facility hindered recycling efforts, creating a cycle of inactivity.

To address this problem, John McDonald, founder of Boulevard, co-founded Ripple Glass with support from local businesses and community organizations. Our state-of-the-art processing facility and innovative metro-wide collection system have dramatically improved glass recycling in Kansas City and the region.

In 2018, 468,000 Kansas City residents used our drop-off sites, and over 150 businesses participated in the recycling program. We proudly recycled approximately 175 million Boulevard bottles last year alone and have surpassed one billion since our establishment in 2009.
